Who is the Credo House for?

Everyone who desires to learn and fellowship around a common theme---theology!

What is with the coffee bar?

Not only can you come when a formal class is scheduled, but you can come hang out any time the doors are open (see schedule). We will usually have the TV playing a video of theological teaching in the background. There is also a pool table!

Are there any costs?

The formal classes will usually have a charge. But this is only to ensure that you have a deeper level of commitment. Most of the seminars, live sessions, and special events will be free. Coffee is free! Even the "Luther Latte."

Why didn't you do this in a church?

We wanted some place that was more neutral. Some people are threatened by dogmatic education coming from any place affiliated too closely with an institution. The Credo House can serve as a meeting ground for the church and the unchurched.

Are you affiliated or supported by any denomination?

No. We are Protestant Evangelical. Our statement of faith is the same as Reclaiming the Mind Ministries found here. We are best expressed through the dictum, "In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity."

Is this a seminary or a replacement for seminary?

No and no. While many of our courses are accepted for advance standing credit by some seminaries, we are not an accredited institution and are not seeking such. We are also not attempting to be a replacement for seminary. We encourage many people who we feel are being called into ministry to attend a good evangelical seminary for a more disciplined and broader education. We are primarily for the education of everyone, including those who may never be called into seminary but desire the same type of theological training. We believe theology is for everyone therefore we are desirous to make it accessible to all.

How is this ministry supported?

Primarily through donations.

Is the Credo House a Church?

No. The Credo House is here to serve the church in theological education of lay-people and pastors. We support the local church of all denominations with evangelical convictions.

Can you start a Credo House in my city?

Maybe. Let's let this take shape and form for a bit. It is very much a part of our vision to expand into cities all over the world, Lord willing. We will talk more soon about this.
